Brighten Your Smile
Professional teeth whitening services can be a safe and effective way of removing surface stains and lightening the colour of your teeth.
The whitening solution contains active ingredients such as hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide.
As the active bleaching agent breaks down, the oxygen it releases acts on the tooth and produces a whitening effect.
Our dentists are able to offer a host of different teeth whitening procedures for our patients based on their specific needs, including take-home whitening treatments and in-office treatments.
Your Treatment Options
At-Home Whitening
We offer at-home whitening treatments for our patients' ease of use, brightening the look of their smiles in a matter of days or weeks.
We will create customized whitening trays that can be worn for a few hours a day and will help you achieve a progressively brighter smile.
Zoom Teeth Whitening
We also offer in-office whitening, effective for quick results and stain removal, using the Zoom Teeth Whitening system.
In-office whitening procedures allow for more concentrated whitening agents in the process since it wi supervised by a dentist. This means in-office whitening can be helpful when you would like your teeth whitened quicker than at-home treatments can offer.
How Take-Home Treatment Works
During your teeth whitening appointment, we will create a custom whitening tray to take impressions of your teeth. You'll return for a second appointment to pick up the materials.
You'll place the whitening gel in each tray and you'll need to wear the trays in your mouth for about 1 to 2 hours each day. Many patients wear their trays overnight, as they sleep.
As there are some potential risks with the process causing teeth to become brittle over time, we typically recommend a minimum age of 16 for teeth whitening.
The Results
Typically, you'll see results within 10 to 14 days, with a significant change in tooth colour generally occurring in four to six weeks.
Occasionally, the effectiveness of tooth whitening may be minimal if teeth are seriously stained.
In these instances, an alternative treatment to consider may be dental crowns or veneers.
